Etna

Meeting notes,
living natively on your Mac

Etna records both sides of your calls, transcribes them entirely on-device, and writes clean markdown straight into your Obsidian vault. No servers, no subscription.

Private by architecture, not by promise

There is no Etna cloud. Transcription and speaker separation run on-device, and notes are written directly into your Obsidian vault — plain markdown files you own, with no service sitting between you and them. Etna is free: summaries run on Apple Intelligence at no cost, or on your own API key for the model of your choice — the only tokens you ever pay for are your own.

Hears both sides

Your microphone and the audio other apps play — Zoom, Meet, Teams — captured and transcribed live.

Stays on this Mac

On-device speech models, on-device speaker separation. No account, no upload, no server pulling data off your machine.

Knows who said what

Speakers are separated live and recognized across meetings — name someone once and Etna remembers their voice.

Straight into Obsidian

Finished meetings land in your vault as clean markdown — summary, transcript, speaker names. Your files, readable by anything, locked to nothing.
